Palworld has more items worth selling than just the ones that 'can be sold to merchants'. Let's take a look at some of the most profitable items.
In Palworld, as in all upbringing games, gold is also important to help you advance the game quickly, save more time, and as you get deeper in the game, the more money you need. So in order to solve this problem, professional players are prepared early, and there are many different ways to earn a lot of gold in this game.
First of all, merchants in the game are the most direct way to get gold, by trading items to get, let's see what items are worth selling.
Items worth selling
1.Outdated Gear
There's almost no reason to hold on to old gear in Palworld. Once you advance the Tech Tree enough to get the next level of Glider, Armor, Grappling Gun, and so on, don't worry about storing the previous iterations in a storage chest or something.
There's no way to 'break down' these old items and unless new players are joining the server and you want to give them a bit of a head start, these items don't serve any other purpose. So, just sell them to an NPC instead, because even if they don't sell for much at least they're serving some purpose instead of none at all.
2.Ancient Civilization Parts
Out of all the items we recommend selling on here, Ancient Civilization Parts are the ones people would recommend the least. Ancient Civilization Parts are actually used in quite a few different recipes such as Egg Incubators or the Essence Condenser.
However, once players know how to farm Ancient Civilization Parts, it's not so bad selling these things as it isn't that difficult to go fight a couple of Alpha Pals and get more. Still, the general consensus is to only rely on selling Ancient Civilization Parts if you're out of every other useful item to sell, as just about everything else on here is much more worthwhile to sell first.
To no one's surprise in a game that's as unabashedly 'dark' with the things players can do to Pals, it turns out that selling Pals on the Black Market is actually very profitable. All players need to do is find any Black Marketeer NPC and they'll be able to return to them at any time to sell any Pals that they want both from their party and from their Palbox.
The value of Pals scales wildly depending on the Pal rarity, their level, Passive Skills, and whether they're an Alpha Pal or not, but in general selling Pals is a great way to make money. In general, the meta right now seems to revolve around breeding a ton of Relaxarus Pals and selling them for anywhere from 800 to 2,000 Gold each.
3.Extra Schematics
The way that Schematics work in Palworld is a bit different from how survival games tend to be, as they aren't single-use. Instead, as long as the player has the Schematic in their inventory and is at the right type of crafting structure, they'll be able to craft the item (albeit using a bit more materials than they would need to if they had the item advanced in their Technology Tree).
Because of the way these currently work, that's not really any reason for a Guild to hoard multiple copies of the same Schematic, unless they're different rarity Schematics of the same item. So, for those who have a lot of copies of the same Schematic, sell the copies, as each one typically sells for between 500 and 1000 Gold.
4.Nails
Now out of all the sellable items on here, Nails are probably the most surprising in terms of how much absolute money they'll make. For just 1 Ingot, a player will get 2 Nails, with each Nail selling for 160 Gold. So with just, say, 30 Ingots (AKA 60 Nails), players will make 9,600 Gold from selling them.
Thats an absurd amount of Gold just for farming 2-3 Ore Veins, and it honestly breaks the economy of Palworld quite a bit once you know about this. It's very likely they'll reduce the amount these sell for in the near future, so take advantage of the Nail market while it's still around.
5.Gemstones
Gemstones are incredibly similar to the 'Precious' type items as both are meant to almost exclusively be sold to Merchants. The main difference between these two categories of items is simply how they're obtained, with 'Precious' items being gained from Alpha Pals and Dungeon Bosses and Gemstones being gained from chests (typically the ones at the end of Dungeons). However, Gemstones do seem to sell for higher prices on average, so that alone makes grinding out Dungeons in Palworld worth it, especially if players know how to get through them even faster than intended.
6.Precious Items
Let's start things off with the most obvious items, all of the items that start with the word 'Precious' are typically meant to be sold to Merchants and not much else. These are the items that are typically dropped from Alpha Pals or Dungeon Bosses after you defeat them, capture them, or even skip them. All of them have the phrase 'Can be sold to a merchant for a high price' and that's the clue that this is the only real purpose for these items.
Ways To Make Money Passively
Let's take a look at some of the most important ways that players can generate gold as a by-product of their activity, or even passively generate gold when they're not doing anything at all.
Method 1: Mau & Mau Cryst
Pals recommended:
-
Pals:Mau
-
Partner Skill:Gold Digger
-
Gold per Item:10G
-
Pals:Mau Cryst
-
Partner Skill:Gold Digger
-
Gold per Item:10G
For the first method (and arguably the best passive method) let's look at two pals by the name of Mau and its elemental variant found in the Astral Mountains called Mau Cryst. Both of these Pals have the Partner Skill called Gold Digger that causes them to occasionally dig up Gold Coins whenever they're assigned to any Ranch in a base (considering that their only other Work Suitability is Cooling unless you've got a Cooler in your base both the Mau and Mau Cryst will default to the Ranch anyway).
While each batch of coins they dig up is only about 10, they dig them up pretty often, so much so that if you set about 3-5 Mau's to work and leave them alone for about an hour while you go and explore the map, you'll come back to multiple ranches full of Gold Coins.
Of course, once you grab all these coins it'll only add up to between 2-4k Gold at most, but 4k Gold every hour without having to do anything yourself is more than work the Pal Slots at one of your three bases. Just make sure to keep them fed and happy, and if possible breed the Mau to have beneficial work Passives such as Artisan or Work Slave. Also, don't worry about catching Mau Crysts over regular Mau as there doesn't seem to be any real difference in the amount of Gold they dig up.
Method 2: Relaxaurus' Breeding
Pals value:
-
Name:Relaxaurus
-
Average Value:844-2500 Gold
-
What 'Determines' Their Value:Level, Alpha (or not), & Dungeon Boss (or not)
-
Name:Relaxaurus Lux
-
Average Value:844-3500 Gold
-
What 'Determines' Their Value:Level, Alpha (or not), & Dungeon Boss (or not)
Breeding different Pal Eggs in Palworld is a pretty lucrative business. Not only is this a good way to create the perfect Pal with optimal damage or speed Passives, but it's also a great way to fill out your Paldeck challenges and get extra Pals to sell to the Black Marketeer.
The science behind what exactly determines the 'value' of a Pal to the Black Market Dealer is pretty hard to parse, but Dungeon Boss and Alpha Pals always seem to sell for more.
However, one Pal that always sells for at least 2k are Relaxaurus, and there are good number of different Pal Combinations that create Relaxaurus eggs (Huge Dragon Eggs). To figure out which Pals combine to make Relaxaurus eggs, we recommend looking up a 'Palworld Breeding Calculator' as fans have already made a few of these.
Once you know how to make them, simply create a couple of Breeding Farms with one specialized in Relaxaurus' and the others specialized in Pals you actually want to Breed, and you'll be able to passively generate Gold just by hatching some extra eggs on the side.
Method 3: Clearing Dungeons & Alpha Pals
Material value:
-
Material Name: Precious Pelt Sell Value: 500G
-
Material Name: Precious Claw Sell Value: 650G
-
Material Name: Precious Plume Sell Value: 750G
-
Material Name: Precious Entrails Sell Value: 850G
-
Material Name: Precious Dragon Stone Sell Value: 1000G
This next method is relatively similar to method 2, but the passive gold earned comes from two different sources. Farming Dungeons and Alpha Pal fights in Palworld is worth your time for a multitude of reasons.
These are great for Pal EXP, good for catching new Pals, great for filling up your Paldeck challenges, a great way to get extra Tech Points and Items (in Dungeons specifically), and of course a great way to get extra Gold.
To be more specific about how these activities lead to gold gain, when you defeat a Dungeon Boss or Pal, they'll always drop some amount of Ancient Civilization Parts as well as any number of items that are purely meant to be sold to merchants for gold.
So these are already a naturally occurring money-making side effect of these activities, and that's not even including the gemstones from the chests after a Dungeon Boss that are also sold for quite a lot of gold (sapphires, diamonds, and so on). So, while this isn't as 'passive' as the other methods on here, most people are grinding these activities for Pals, EXP, and Tech Points, and the money made from it is just a nice little bonus.
Method 4: Nail Crafting
Principle formula:
-
Name:Nails*2
-
Required Materials:Ingot*1
-
Sell Value:320G
And for the last method, let's go over something you can actually craft that sells for quite a lot of Gold. The value of different items (outside of the Precious items, of course) in Palworld feels pretty random, and it can be hard to tell at a glance if an item is going to sell for a little or a lot. Luckily, that's exactly what this guide is for, as we're here to tell you that Nails specifically are absolutely worth farming the ore just in order to craft and sell them.
Once you have a few good Ore Vein spots marked on the map to farm, it can be very easy (still tedious, however) to farm Ore/Ingots, which is exactly what you'll need to make Nails. But, if you just put in about 20 minutes of work max to farm some Ore Veins, you'll find that the Gold return will be more than worth the effort.
Just one Nail sells for 160 Gold at any Merchant, and every single basic Ingot makes 2 of them. So, that means that farming just 50 Ingots and turning them all into Nails will get you about 16K Gold, which is just hilariously absurd considering you'd have to sell handfuls of Diamonds to make anywhere near that much. We can easily see Pocketpair changing the value of Nails in a future Palworld patch, as once you learn about how much they sell for, money is no longer anything you need to worry about.
