Pals in Palsworld control each other due to their attributes, although single-type friends only need to guard against enemies that are stronger than their own type, but as the game progresses, players will encounter dual-type Pals, players can add them to their team, which can effectively avoid many attribute restraint problems in combat.
Specific dual-type Pals are stronger than others, since some combinations provide coverage for their elemental weakness, while also giving players more elemental attack options during key moments when trying to defeat bosses, and capturing hardy alpha Pals. The following dual-type Pals exhibit great versatility both in battle and utility during base building and item crafting, so players should be on the lookout to acquire them.
1.serk
Electric-Dragon Type Pal
Oserk combines Electric and Dragon-type skills into one deadly package. It is an excellent Pal to have when hunting for new Pals to complete a player’s Paldeck or gathering specific crafting materials. Specifically, when Oserk fight Water-type Pals, they tend to drop more materials once they are defeated, thanks to Oserk’s Ferocious Thunder Dragon Partner Skill.
During the later stages of base-building, Oserk are also excellent sources of power for generating electricity. They are also good when assigned to Transporting and Handiwork tasks. They can be encountered at No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary and can put up a hardy fight. Players should pack a lot of high-level Pal Spheres if they intend to capture one.
2.Astegon
Dark-Dragon Type Pal
Dragons are generally regarded as powerhouses in Palworld due to their high-damaging attacks. Astegon follows this trend, as one of the premiere Dark-Dragon types available. It mostly uses Dark-type attacks like Nightmare Ball and Dark Laser to annihilate its targets, but also has Dragon-type skills in Dragon Burst and Dragon Meteor.
When used as a helper, Astegon is best with Mining tasks and is also decent at Handiwork. Its Partner Skill, Black Anklyosaur, allows it to fly and deal more damage to Ore nodes for players who need to farm such material. However, Astegon shines the most as a combatant, thanks to its extremely potent skills and great defense.
3.Jormuntide Ignis
Fire-Dragon Type Pal
As far as Pals made for combat, few come close to Jormuntide Ignis. Its Fire-Dragon typing gives it a leg up since it has access to immensely powerful elemental attacks like Flare Storm, Fire Ball, and Dragon Meteor.
Its Fire-type is amazing, defensively, as it helps deal with Ice-type Pals that are strong against Dragon-type Pals. Once players craft its saddle, they can ride Jormuntide Ignis and have their attacks be empowered with Fire elemental.
While Jormuntide is an excellent Pal for Kindling tasks at the base, its combat prowess makes it a much more suitable Party member for combat encounters.
4.Jormuntide
Water-Dragon Type Pal
There are a couple of Water-Dragon type Pals available in Palworld. While Azurobe is a good early to mid-level Water-Dragon type, Jormuntide is the best option players should get for their party. This majestic sea serpent is an excellent combat Pal, thanks to its highly-damaging Water and Dragon-based skills like Aqua Burst, Hydro Laser, and Dragon Meteor. It also has Tri-Lightning for some type coverage.
Jormuntide is also an excellent water mount, since its Partner Skill, Stormbringer Sea Dragon, lets players cross bodies of water without depleting their stamina meter. It can also be placed to work on Watering tasks in a player’s base, but this powerhouse is better as a combatant than a helper.
5.Menasting
Ground-Dark Type Pal
There aren’t many Ground-Dark dual types in Palworld, but Menasting has this distinction. It excels at dishing out powerful Ground and Dark elemental attacks such as Stone Cannon, Nightmare Ball, and Rock Lance against opponents. Due to its dual-typing, Menasting is also tankier than most Pals, which is an additional advantage, especially when battling bosses.
When assigned to a base, Menasting does have decent Lumbering and good Mining prowess, but it is better suited as a Party member since its type coverage and defensive stats have more impact during battles.
6.Vanwyrm
Fire-Dark Type Pal
Vanwyrm are great Fire-Dark type Pals since they can learn powerful elemental attacks to burn and decimate their targets. This is due to their base stats being geared towards offense rather than defense. During combat, savvy players should send out and recall their Vanwyrms frequently to have them avoid incoming attacks, especially since they are weak against Water and Dragon-type skills.
It is also a great mount to have since its Partner Skill grants players increased damage when they are riding their Vanwyrm and targeting an opponent’s weak points. When assigned at the base, Vanwyrms are good at Kindling and Transporting tasks.
7.Vanwyrm Cryst
Ice-Dark Type Pal
Dark-type Pals have strong attacks but have a severe weakness to Dragon-types to balance out their power. Vanwyrm Cryst, an Ice-type variant of the common Vanwyrm, possesses the dual-typing of Ice and Dark. This type coverage allows it to take on Dragon-type Pals head-on in a damage-dealing contest with its strong Ice elemental attacks like Icicle Cutter and Cryst Breath.
As a mount, Vanwyrm Cryst performs similarly to normal Vanwyrms: players need to craft its saddle, and it can fly the player anywhere on the map. When assigned to a base, Vanwyrm Cryst is effective at Cooling and Transportation tasks.
8.Ice Reptyro
Ice-Ground Type Pal
Reptyro are generally known to be Fire-Ground type Pals that possess immensely powerful elemental attacks that they need to charge first before unleashing onto their targets. This is the same for Ice Reptyro: as its name suggests, it is an Ice-type Pal that packs strong Ice and Ground elemental moves that can hit single or multiple targets.
As a base pal, Ice Reptyro has the same capabilities as its Fire-type counterpart, except that its ability to fulfill Kindling tasks is replaced with Cooling tasks. Its saddle, once crafted, still improves the player’s ability to efficiently mine for ore.
9.Broncherry Aqua
Water-Grass Type Pal
While typically a Grass-type Pal, Broncherry Aqua adds the Water-type to an already burly Pal to cover its weakness to Fire. Broncherry Aqua mixes Grass and Water elemental attacks such as Spine Vine and Aqua Burst that hit hard to take out enemy targets. At early levels, it also has its signature move, Muscle Slam, as a neutral elemental attack that has significant power relative to how early it learns the skill.
Utility-wise, once players craft Broncherry Aqua’s saddle if they mount it, they will have increased carrying capacity. This is useful for players who want to establish another base and need to bring supplies to their desired new location.
10.Dinossom
Grass-Dragon Type Pal
One of the more unique dual-types in the game, Dinossom holds the distinction of being the only Grass-Dragon type Pal in the game to date. Dinossom are relatively easy to encounter, often wandering around the earlier areas, and are relatively hard encounters since most of them start at level 15 and higher.
Its burly build makes it a good tank that can soak damage, while its mix of Dragon and Grass attacks is nothing to scoff at, either. In certain matchups and boss fights, having a Dinossom can benefit players, especially if they are against Ground-type enemies. Creating the Dinossom Saddle allows players to mount their Dinossom, and their attacks become empowered with Grass elemental.
11.Penking
Water-Ice Type Pal
Water-types are fairly common during the early stages in Palworld, with Pengullet often being the best one to get. This is due to its Water-Ice typing: it is a great Pal to have especially when encountering Dragon-type Pals in the wild. Penkings are the stronger version of Pengullets that have more access to Ice-type attacks, making them excellent Pal for mixing Water and Ice attacks.
Once players have access to the Sealed Realm of the Frozen Wings fast travel spot, they can encounter and catch an Alpha Penking at a relatively early stage in their runs. Otherwise, they can encounter Penkings at the Wildlife Sanctuary located at the bottom left side of the starting area, but they’ll need to have a flying or swimming mount to get there safely.
12.Reptyro
Fire-Ground Type Pal
Fire-type Pals are generally useful both in combat and in base-building. This is due to their ability to accomplish Kindling tasks which will become essential once players unlock the different Furnace production items in their base.
Reptyro’s Fire-Ground typing makes it an excellent base Pal since it can do Kindling and Mining tasks well. Combat-wise, they are serviceable, since they have strong Fire and Ground attacks, but typically need some wind-up before they unleash it onto enemies. Its saddle further increases the efficiency of players’ ore-gathering once it’s been unlocked and crafted.
13.Warsect
Grass-Ground Type Pal
During the early game, the typical Grass-Ground type Pals players encounter are Gumoss. These aren’t that strong, but they provide some coverage against Water and Electric-type Pals. However, once players discover the Sealed Realm of the Stalwart near the Gobfin's Turf fast travel point, they have a chance to capture one of the strongest Grass-Ground type Pals in the game, Warsect.
Warsect’s attacks predominantly focus on Ground-based skills that hit hard. It also has some Grass-type attacks, but for the most part, Warsect is better at unleashing its Ground elemental attacks. Its Partner Skill also grants the player increased defense, while also applying Fire damage to their attack. This allows for even more coverage against Grass and Ice-type Pals.
14.Chillet
Ice-Dragon Type Pal
Dragon types possess strong attacks, regardless of level, and are always a welcome addition to any player’s party. That said, their weakness towards Ice can be an issue, since Ice-type Pals and Ice attacks become common as the game opens up new areas.
This is where Chillet, the Ice-Dragon type Pal comes in. It has great Dragon-type attacks to take care of enemies, while its Ice-type covers the Dragon-type weakness. Players can encounter an Alpha version of Chillet relatively early in the game, and capturing this Pal is a great addition to their party during the early goings of their playthrough.
