Palworld features an expansive open world teeming with over a hundred creatures that you can tame, train, and employ as you grow your base. With new features introduced in each update, the game's world may sometimes appear somewhat imbalanced and sparsely populated in specific regions.
Upon server creation, you're presented with the ability to modify numerous settings, encompassing multipliers for virtually every action and game mechanic available. While many settings are adequately balanced, adjusting certain ones can significantly enhance your experience, ensuring it remains both challenging and captivating.
1.Night Time Speed
Setting: 0.5
The cycle of day and night in Palworld plays a crucial role, as it influences the variety of Pals you encounter, allowing you the opportunity to approach those that are asleep. On individual servers, sleeping in your bed lets you swiftly transition from night to day whenever you choose.
Some Pals, such as Tombat and Depresso, remain active during nighttime.
This aspect enables you to reduce the Night Time Speed setting, affording you additional time to capture nocturnal Pals without the pressure of having to hurriedly catch as many as you can. Once prepared, simply retreat to your bed to initiate the dawn, enabling your Pals to resume their duties.
2.EXPRate
Setting: 2 - 4
When engaging in gameplay with a large clan or multiple friends on the same server, it's wise to spread out the recipes each player focuses on learning to conserve your Technology Points. Failing to do so means you might not accumulate enough points to unlock all desired features.
An effective solution is to adjust the EXP Rate setting, enabling quicker level progression. This adjustment is particularly crucial on solo servers, where attaining mid-level status and acquiring every recipe on your own can consume numerous hours.
3.Pal Appearance Rate
Setting: 1.5 - 2
Given the vastness of the world map and the limited world features available during early access, traversing the skies on your Beakon might seem somewhat desolate. Adjusting the Pal Appearance Rate setting can populate the world with more Pals, provided your computer can manage the additional demand.
This adjustment can also address various challenges, like struggling to locate the appropriate Pal for the ten captures experience bonus, or spending extensive periods in search of a single Venom Gland. However, it's advisable not to maximize this setting but rather to increment it to two for an optimal experience.
4.Pal Hunger Depletion Rate
Setting: 2 - 5
As time passes, your Pals will grow hungry, particularly after periods of riding or combat involvement, gradually consuming your food reserves through their Feeding Bags. Nonetheless, given the ease of acquiring food and the substantial replenishment offered by even a single berry, this aspect amounts to a slight nuisance.
Enhancing this mechanic's significance and encouraging the construction and upkeep of several crop plots can be achieved by adjusting this setting upward. It also incentivizes investing Ancient Technology Points into superior Feed Bags, which typically receive less attention than they deserve.
5.Gatherable Items Multiplier
Setting: 1.5 - 2
A significant portion of Palworld's gameplay revolves around employing axes and pickaxes for collecting resources like wood, stone, ore, sulfur, among others. While workstations for processing wood and stone can be established, this necessitates extensive periods devoted to mining different colored rocks.
For many players, such repetitive tasks quickly become monotonous and feel like they detract from valuable game time that could be better spent capturing Pals or engaging in battles with NPC encampments. Adjusting the resource gathering multiplier upwards allows players to partake in these essential activities without dedicating an excessive amount of time to them.
6.Dropped Items Multiplier
Setting: 1.5 - 3
Securing or incapacitating Pals results in them relinquishing items specific to their type directly into your inventory, with nearly every Pal yielding something of utility, some of which are particularly vital in the game's initial stages.
Under the existing configuration, especially for those on solo servers, the effort to acquire sufficient numbers of Pals to obtain items like Venom Glands, Pal Metal, or Ancient Civilization Parts can equate to extensive hours of gameplay, only for these hard-earned resources to be quickly depleted upon crafting your first set of arrows or armor.
7.Structure Deterioration Rate
Setting: 0
Structures positioned outside the designated zone of your base will deteriorate in health over time and will ultimately be destroyed. This mechanism helps maintain cleanliness in larger multiplayer servers by avoiding the accumulation of stray structures like stairs and repair benches. However, for players on solo servers, this feature can become a nuisance.
Adjusting the relevant setting to zero eliminates the concern of losing any objects placed outside the boundary, even those that are only slightly beyond the limit. This modification also affords you greater flexibility in expanding your base's footprint, provided you do not require your working Pals to interact with objects located in these external areas.
8.Maximum Number Of Dropped Items In The World
Setting: 4,000 - 5,000
This configuration impacts the visibility of items scattered on the ground, ranging from spontaneously generated objects like Pal Spheres to those you or your Farm Pals have dropped. Altering this setting primarily results in an increase of random items encountered during your explorations.
Enhancing this setting addresses a particular problem: if you operate several farms where Pals are actively collecting and depositing items, the scarcity of items found in the wilderness may contribute to Palworld's sensation of emptiness. This effect is pronounced when the setting is kept at its default, low value.
9.Death Penalty
Setting: Drop all items except equipment
A particularly harsh element of Palworld is the mechanic where your character drops all equipped items upon death. This encompasses everything your character is wearing, from accessories to, crucially, armor.
The issue intensifies if your demise occurs in a severely cold or hot area, leaving you without the necessary gear to endure these conditions. Crafting a new set just to retrieve your original equipment leads to unnecessary material expenditure. Modifying this setting so that only items are dropped upon death can maintain the game's difficulty level while mitigating its undue harshness.
10.Time To Incubate Massive Egg
Setting: 1
Contrary to what the name might suggest, this configuration influences the incubation period of all kinds of eggs, dictating how long they require to hatch. By default, this duration is set quite short, but it can be extended to necessitate many hours for eggs to fully incubate.
Although this feature plays a crucial role in curbing the advancement of large clans in competitive, multiplayer environments, it essentially results in idle waiting in other settings, particularly when awaiting the hatching of a Kelpsea. Reducing this setting is advisable; however, setting it to zero eliminates the incubation timer altogether, along with the nuanced heating and cooling dynamics that add depth to the incubation process.
