Palworld has taken the gaming world by storm, quickly ascending the player charts to becoming one of the most popular games in 2024. Though the game has been described as "Pokemon with guns", there are several other purposes Pals can serve in addition to just combat. Pals can also be assigned to building, production, breeding, and farming, so it is worth knowing where each Pal's strengths and weaknesses lie in order to use them efficiently.
While some Pals can offer special combat bonuses and attacks, others are simply not suited to life on the frontlines, and may become more of a hindrance than a help in battle. There are hundreds of unique Pals for players to collect throughout the Palpagos Islands, and while the exact composition of the player's team will largely depend on their own individual play style, it seems unlikely that any of the following Pals will be much use in a fight.
7.Cinnamoth
Limited Attack With Little To Offer At Lower Levels
Cinnamoth is a largely passive grass element Pal commonly found in the region of Mount Flopie. Although Cinnamoth has some useful combat abilities at higher levels, it is much better suited to tasks such as planting and medicine production, with a minor poison fog attack serving as its only combat ability until level 22.
Cinnamoth can be hatched from a Verdant Egg, and can be used to breed further, more powerful Pals such as Univolt and Jormuntide. While Cinnamoth isn't the worst choice of Pal for combat, there are certainly better options out there, unless players are specifically looking to build a team centered around poison damage.
6.Celaray
Fast Movement Speed Best Suited For Other Purposes
Celaray is a water element Pal found in a variety of locations throughout the game world. Best used as either a personal Glider or as a transport worker, Celaray has very little to offer when it comes to combat, and is better suited to tasks such as watering and transportation.
This Pal does have some combat advantages, particularly with water-based attacks unlocked at higher levels, but generally, Celaray's best asset is its fast movement speed. Not many other pals are able to match its speed, making it an ideal Glider rather than a fighting companion.
5.Ribbuny
Relatively Weak Pal Best Suited To Other Roles
Ribbuny is a neutral element Pal most commonly found at Ascetic Falls, Ice Wind Island, and Eastern Wild Island. Ribbuny has a useful Partner Skill which increases the attack power of fellow neutral element Pals, though Ribbuny itself is not particularly combat-effective.
When stationed at a base, Ribbuny's Partner Skill will increase work efficiency when working at a Weapon Workbench, and this is likely the best application of the Pal in general. With Handiwork, Transporting, and Gathering work suitability, there are plenty of activities for Ribbuny to take part in outside of combat.
4.Gumoss
Weak Pal With Skills In Woodcutting And Planting
Gumoss is a grass element type Pal found in a range of locations including Sea Breeze Archipelago, Marsh Island, Investigator's Fork, and Forgotten Island. Gumoss has the Logging Assistance partner skill which, unsurprisingly, makes it ideal for gathering wood rather than fighting.
Gumoss has very weak base stats when it comes to combat, and as a grass element type, also suffers additional vulnerability to fire damage. Therefore, this Pal is best suited to Planting duties, as well as speeding up the efficiency of cutting trees, which can greatly contribute to the building of a successful base.
3.Depresso
A Weaker Dark Element Type With Better Uses Elsewhere
Despite being a dark element type, Depresso is still a relatively weak combat team member when compared with other Pals of the same category. It can be found in a variety of locations around the map, though it will only appear at night due to it being a nocturnal creature.
While perhaps not the ideal combat companion, Depresso can still be put to use in a variety of ways. With work suitability in Handiwork, Mining, and Transportation, it is safe to say that Depresso will likely be happier when assigned to one of these roles, rather than having to survive difficult combat encounters.
2.Fuddler
Unique Partner Skill Better Used For Mining
Fuddler is a small ground element Pal that can commonly be found in the north-eastern corner of Investigator's Fork, as well as the north-eastern side of the Sand Dunes. While Fuddler is suited to many purposes, combat is not one of its strong points, at least not before Level 30.
The Ore Detector partner skill is especially useful for finding nearby ore, as it will send out vibrations in order to detect it. Fuddler is suited to handiwork and transporting, but its best application is the finding and mining of ore in the area surrounding a player's base.
1.Mozzarina
A Farming Specialist With Little Combat Utility
Mozzarina is a cow-like neutral type Pal found in the eastern area of Ascetic Falls, close to Windswept Hills. While Mozzarina can produce meat when hunted and can also be assigned to Ranches to produce milk, this Pal holds little value outside of this, and is certainly not a great go-to for combat.
Mozzarina also possesses the Farming work suitability, which can be useful, since this is quite a rare skill. The milk produced by Mozzarina can be used to make Cake, an essential resource when it comes to the hatching of further eggs.
