1 Lamball
Lamball may not be the most proficient worker for your base, possessing skills in handiwork, transport, and farming. However, they become valuable when assigned to the Ranch, generating a substantial amount of wool for crafting once the Ranch is built.
As acquiring wool typically involves defeating pals with wool, having a pal at your base capable of producing it while assisting with other tasks proves to be a smart choice. Additionally, Lamball showcases resilience in raids, always ready to engage in combat to defend your base.
2 Lifmunk
Lifmunk stands out as a versatile generalist, making them an excellent addition to your base. Their skills span a wide range, encompassing planting, gathering, handiwork, lumbering, and medicine production. The ability to produce medicine becomes particularly valuable in the late game when crafting medical supplies for your pals becomes essential.
Lifmunk's diverse skill set covers almost half of all possible pal skills, allowing them to contribute to various tasks within your base. While Lifmunk may not be dedicated to a specific assignment and tends to move between tasks, there's always something for them to engage in.
However, it's worth noting that Lifmunks can sometimes be perceived as slackers, receiving warnings for not working diligently or occasionally slacking off. This behavior may be attributed to the multitude of tasks they could be undertaking, or perhaps it's a matter of work ethic. Despite occasional slacking, if you don't mind this aspect, Lifmunks prove to be highly useful due to their adaptability and broad skill coverage.
3 Tanzee
Tanzee emerges as one of the top choices, particularly when space for pals is limited. With skill points in planting, handiwork, lumbering, transport, and gathering, Tanzee excels in a variety of tasks, including replanting seeds, constructing materials, tree felling, collecting finished materials, and transporting items to chests.
While Tanzee's versatility makes them invaluable, one potential drawback is their tendency to switch between tasks frequently. Unfortunately, there isn't a built-in mechanism to prioritize specific tasks, aside from physically directing them through more forceful methods like picking them up and placing them in the desired location. Nevertheless, Tanzee's strong work ethic shines through, and they demonstrate minimal slack, making them reliable contributors to your base's operations.
4 Daedream
Daedream has a skill point in gathering, handiwork and transport, so this covers a good variety of jobs that will be located around the map. You can often find them finishing the end of tasks and working on organising your base for you.
Daedream is a nocturnal pal, who can be found out and about at night. With that said, they still do work all day at your base, but also don't rest until deep into the night, only sleeping for a small portion of the nighttime itself. This means that they can spend more time doing tasks around the base, even after the other pals have called it a day. If you have a lot to do, it's well worth taking advantage of the extra time!
5 Dinossom
Dinossom serves as a specialized companion for your base. With proficiency in both planting and lumbering, they focus on a limited range of tasks, excelling in speed and efficiency. While they may not handle a wide variety of assignments, their quick and effective completion of essential tasks, such as planting for sustenance and gathering lumber for crafting, makes them valuable contributors. Their dedicated work in these crucial areas, coupled with the simplicity of their assigned tasks, positions Dinossom as a diligent and efficient worker within the base.
6 Pengullet
Pengullet is another valuable companion with a diverse skill set, featuring proficiency in watering, handwork, transport, and a standout skill in cooling. The cooling ability is particularly crucial for maintaining the functionality of your Cooler Box, preventing food from spoiling.
Although the task of keeping the Cooler Box cold doesn't require constant attention, Pengullet's additional skills ensure they stay productive and engaged. This versatility becomes especially beneficial, preventing them from being idle and contributing to various tasks beyond the essential upkeep of the cooling system.
